BGCmap 1.1
This is my newest version of a map editor i've been creating. It has a mouse
driven interface and all the usual options, with a couple of new ones too. It
is proberbly the best tool i've ever created, so download this now! Supports all
file sizes, palettes etc. It also includes support for layers and inbuilt "suffixes"
option for adding data onto the end of you're map. Capable of 130*130*5 sized maps.
Source code included.
JoyPad
This is a program ive just created which allows you to calibrate the joystick and
each buttons, in the style of a NES controller! Pretty good, eh? It even gives you
instructions for how to use it in your own QB programs! The programm gives out a file
called "joypad.dat" which details you're joysticks calibration.
pp256
Yep, this is it! pp256! For those who don't know, pp256 is a drawing program with
full support for everything imaginable. The files created are saved as standard bsaved
files, with options to create great tilesets. Just download it, its freeware after all,
but I guarentee you'll not get better for QuickBasic.
Qbasic 4.5
This is what we at Black Gate Corps use to create all our games. Its QuickBasic 4.5.
Its faster that Qbasic, with more memory and a handy compiler too. QuickBasic is useless
without knowing how to use it though, so check out the tutorials listed underneath.

PP256 Tutorial -
Dreamer...
PP256 can be confusing sometimes, so I wrote a tutorial on it in my spare time! I don't
pretend to be a master in actually using it though - this tutorial focuses on the programming
side of things. Its very simple and easy to understand though. With it you can learn to create
arrays and load and display images created on pp256. Good for beginners.
Tile Engine Demo -
Tek
The most frequently asked questions for newbies are how to create a simple tile scrolling
engine. This tutorial gives an example that is easy to follow. Learn this and adapt with
librarys to create a better engine or chop and change to create a simpler one.
DarkDread's RPG Tutorials -
DarkDread
These tutorials are always useful for a beginner, so I put them up for anyone who's interested.
There really quite old, but people still use them. P.S. - DarkDread, I hope you don't mind.
More up to date tutorials are available both at DarkDreads own site DarkDreams, and at Darkness
Ethereal. You can access these from the links section.
If you still need help, and have a specific question, try
e-mailing me. Also mail me if you have
or need a tutorial. If I get enough responses i'll be happy to make one.
